History[]
Sariphi's adoptive father and mother adopted her long before the story started. Sariphi has no memories of being adopted by them, so it can be assumed that she was adopted as a baby, though this is never confirmed in the story.
Late on a stormy night, when Sariphi was young, Sariphi's adoptive mother and father talked about the next human sacrifice. They were both worried that the next human sacrifice would come from their town, but they were relieved that they were able to offer up Sariphi as a sacrifice instead of their biological daughter. They were surprised to find out that Sariphi overheard them talking. [1]
It is unknown how they treated Sariphi before this night. However, her genuine surprise and sadness in finding out she was a sacrifice and the fact that she describes them as "people who were once [her] parents" [1] implies that, up until that night, they treated her like a normal part of their family. It is also unknown how they treated her after that night. However, it is implied that they never treated her like a true member of their family afterwards.[2][3]

Sariphi reveals to Leonhart that she once overheard her adoptive parents talking about offering her as the next human sacrifice. After that night, she always felt that they looked at her with heartless, frigid eyes.[1]

It's unknown what kind of relationship he had with Sariphi when she was a very young child, though it's implied that they had a good relationship until Sariphi found out that she was a sacrifice. [1] After she found out that she was a sacrifice, Sariphi never trusted her adoptive father again, and their relationship was never the same.[2][3]

It is revealed after she found out what they did she cut ties with them as she got the money to live in comfort away from her parents after she found out what they did she got the money from Leonhart and Sariphi. Maria also might of gotten married to Ilya who would hear none of there objections.
