Lanteveldt (ラントベルト, Rantevu~eruto) is one of the main characters of the anime Sacrificial Princess and the King of Beast and Manga series.
Lanteveldt is the Captain of the Queen's Guard, making him the direct servant and bodyguard of Sariphi.

Lanteveldt is a hyena-like beast, appearing as a humanoid hyena and a teenager. His fur is silvery gray with dark markings, and his eyes are different colors; his left eye is gray with white sclera and his right eye is gold with black sclera. He has a pair of claw sets for weapons.
Lanteveldt wears a formal royal guard attire that is colored white, black and gold.

Lanteveldt was born to a hyenian mother and father who came from an outsider tribe, beyond the protectorate.

When his mother fell sick he had enough money to buy some medicine, after he was done buying the medicine he was on his way home when he was stopped by some soldiers who were wondering if he stole it but he told them he bought it and that they should ask the medicine seller who sold it to him but, beasts were looking at him and said that no one would trust a hyenian, then the soldier took the medicine from him, he tried to taking it back by biting the soldier to no avail, he then cried and told him that his mother would die if she didn't get the medicine. When he returned to his home, his mother has already passed away from her sickness and he ended up burying her, he feels that.[1]
Plot[]
Lanteveldt is yelling that Anubis should move, but, since Anubis didn't hear him, as he was too busy explaining to Sariphi, he ends up jumping on him and making him fall down, Anubis then tells him to get off him and then he introduces himself to Sariphi.
When Braun Breuse is attacked by an unseen beast, he is accused of being the attacker, he tells them that he was on the roof and slept there, before he had got dragged away, Sariphi says that, she will prove his innocence much to his shock.
When Lanteveldt was in his cell he recalls back to, when Sariphi defended him and says that, he always wanted to be trusted by someone like her.
After Sariphi had proved Lanteveldt's innocence he swore to protect her, with his life.
Epilogue[]
A decade later, Lanteveldt appears by grabbing Richard, who was in his human form and takes him back to Anubis's lesson, much to Richard's irritation.

Trivia[]
- Many fan works and translations have translated Lanteveldt's name as Landbert. But, since then it has been officially established via the release of Sacrificial Princess and the King of Beasts related media, by Yen Press that, the correct spelling of his name is Lanteveldt.
- In author's notes, Yū Tomofuji'd been planning the appearance of Sariphi's Bodyguard for quite awhile and although she is known for a long time he would be Hyenian, the character himself wasn't coming together. His birth was very difficult. She went through concepts like "Crusty Old Man" and "Foppish Old Man" before landing on the Sassy Young Guy he is.
- He's about 5'7 and roughly 16 years old - a year older than Sariphi and full of mischief.
- Lanteveldt has two different colored eyes, which is known as complete heterochromia.
