History[]
Early Life[]
Fenrir was born as the twelfth youngest son of his father who is the king of Phantom Wolf Kingdom. Compared to his older siblings, he was seen as a "disappointment" by his father.
Fenrir tells a shop owner that if he doesn't want a slave that he could give the slave to him. Fenrir was thinking that he wanted a servant if a slave snacked on the gifts for him and he gave him what he took and called the servant for "Gleipnir". [1]
When they decided to hold a match in the king's presence at the royal palace of Ozmargo. Fenrir was slated to fight Leonhart, they'd be displaying their magic in front of the King of Ozmargo. His father made an ultimatum with Fenrir; if he can't beat Leonhart that he would be banished from the Phantom Wolf royal family forever and stripped of his title as a prince of the Phantom Wolf Kingdom, disowning him all in all. His father wanted him to fight the prince of Ozmargo but he then lost to Leonhart who unleashed his magic that was stronger than Fenrir's. Leonhart asks Fenrir if he is okay afterwards, but Fenfir takes it as a sign of being mocked.[2]
After Fenrir had his ear amputated as punishment, he was exiled from his kingdom, Gleipnir brought an ice for him and Fenrir becomes upset, tells him to not call him that since he was not royal anymore, lost his ear, everything and he is a "stray" and says to Gleipnir that he is not his servant anymore and get lost. When Gleipnir was about to cut his ear, Fenrir stops him from cutting his ear, only cut his eye. Gleipnir tell Fenrir if he want an ear, he will give his ear to Fenrir, he will do anything he say, then he begs him to let him stay with him, which touches Fenrir. He and Gleipnir looks at Phantom Wolf Kingdom, he swears that he'll be king of country until then, he is just Fenrir. Gleipnir asks Fenrir if he means Phantom Wolf Kingdom and and he denies and that he will be the king of the whole country of beastkinds. When Leonhart becomes the king, he will defeat him and become the king himself, and tells Gleipnir to stay with him forever.[3]

- Advanced Strength: Fenrir is much stronger than humans and most other beasts, for example, he was able to kill two beast guards quite easily, he was also able to almost overpower Leonhart, despite the fact that Fenrir was in a severely weakened state at the time.
- Advanced Endurance: Fenrir's endurance is far more greatly developed than humans and most other beasts, for example, he was also able to continue fighting against Leonhart, despite the fact that Fenrir was severely injured, by the latter.
- Advanced Speed: Fenrir is much faster than humans and most other beasts, for example, he can move at blur-like speeds quite easily, as he was able to kill two beast guards, before they could react in time. Fenrir was also able to keep up, with Leonhart in their second/final confrontation, despite the fact that Fenrir was severely injured, by the latter.
- Advanced Longevity: Just like all other beasts, Fenrir ages much slower than humans.

- Master Hand-To-Hand Combatant: Due to being trained at a very young age, Fenrir was a highly skilled hand-to-hand combatant in both armed and unarmed combat, for example, he was able to best two beast guards quite easily, he could also utilize his razor-sharp teeth and claws as weapons in combat. Fenrir was also able to fight on par against and almost overpowered Leonhart in their second/final confrontation.
Weaknesses[]
- Limited strength: Although Fenrir was incredibly strong, he did have his limits, for example, he was unable to match Leonhart in "terms of physical strength".
- Mortality: Despite Fenrir's advanced levels of endurance, he was not immortal. As he could be killed, just like other living beings.
Relationships[]
Unnamed Father[]
Gleipnir[]
Gleipnir was Fenrir's close friend and right-hand man. After rescuing Nir from slave-trafficking, Fenrir gives Nir a proper name and a purpose in his life, making him more of a close friend than a slave.
Leonhart[]
Leonhart was Fenrir's arch-rival and attempted victim.
Sariphi[]
Sariphi was Fenrir's enemy, attempted victim, and one-sided love interest.
They first met when Fenrir invaded the ship that Sariphi was on, demanding hold the person who was in charge as a hostage. Afterward, when in his castle, Sariphi never showed any fear for him, and even was empathetic when he told her his past, petting his head affectionately. As time went on, Saraphi made him feel something besides hate and regret, which he hasn't felt in so long, and started to fall in love with her, wanting to make her his queen. He gave her offerings to try and make her feel the same for him, but she refused with scornful disdain as she saw right through his attempts to spite Leonhart.
Unlike Leonhart who treats Sariphi as a person and an equal, and even willing to ensure her happiness and well-being, Fenrir views her as nothing more than a trophy of his victory against Leonhart and doesn't care what she wanted. It is unclear whether Fenrir feels genuine love for Sariphi or developed an unhealthy, lustful obsession of Sariphi.
Quotes[]
- (to Gleipnir) "But I don't wanna wait. Not when I think about how I'll finally get a chance to bite off that guy's head." (Chapter 54)
- (to Soldiers) "Don't lump me in with those lowlifes. I am...Fenrir, "King of Wolves". The new King of Beastkind." (Chapter 54)
- (to Sariphi) "Even if that's true...doesn't mean you're worth anything. It means that's all the Queen consort of Ozmargo is worth. That's how I see it, anyway. There's no prestige in killing a human. Do you have the soft of vale that makes sacrificing you meritable once I'm king?" (Chapter 54)
- (to Gleipnir) "Let him go, Nir. A promise is a promise. A "King" has to take responsibility for his words." (Chapter 55)
- (to Sariphi) "I'm not like that guy. That spineless king who's already on top but hates fighting." (Chapter 56)
- (to talks about his past) "Back then...compared to my siblings, I was a "disappointment". My old man was secretly trying to flip the dynamic and conquer Ozmargo, so to him...I was useless just in the way." (Chapter 56)
- (about Sariphi) "It can't be true...does that guy really like her this much...? Interesting. This woman...I'm starting to want her for real." (Chapter 56)
Trivia[]
- Fenrir shares his name and title with a character from Wolfull Moon, Yū Tomofuji's fourth manga series.
- In author's notes, Yū Tomofuji had Fenrir before Ilya, as a rival who'd fight hard again His Majesty.
- He was always supposed to be a drinker too. In the end, his character didn't set until she started working on the roughs, but he turned into a fun one to draw. He doesn't have any matte black areas or screentone, but since he's got more lines than they'd think, he's tricky to draw.
- He is named after the wolf, Fenrir from Norse mythology.
