Carpenter Bees and a Court Banquet (熊蜂と貴族の宴, Kumabachi to Kizoku no Utage) is the second episode of the Sacrificial Princess and the King of Beasts anime series.
Summary[]
Leonhart announces Sariphi as his queen-to-be, but the beast aristocracy is less than enthusiastic. Can their budding relationship survive the backlash, and can Sariphi make a place for herself in the realm of beasts?

Leonhart upbraids the two in annoyance before Sariphi defends them, taking responsibility of her own but makes a mistake of referring him by his given name which Anubis overheard in suspicion, which slightly alarms Leonhart. Nevertheless, Leonhart simply escorts Sariphi back to his chambers before commanding Anubis to take his leave.
Once Leonhart has Sariphi back inside, he reprimands her for going out his chambers before informing her about the banquet being held tomorrow evening where beast nobility throughout the realm will be attending and that Sariphi's attendance is mandatory. Sariphi was surprised to hear that he wanted her there, and Leonhart replied that her presence of said banquet was proposed from the senate speakers. Leonhart encouraged Sariphi to keep her confidence up during the banquet while forbidding her from calling him by his given name in public (especially during the banquet) for the time being, considering it as a bad example before leaving.

Sariphi then explains what carpenter bees are, recalling the time of when she was out in the fields with Maria.
Later that evening, the beast nobility are in the great hall. Among the crowd, a couple of mares commented how they haven't been to the castle for a long time and hoped to see Leonhart's choice of his future queen consort, imagining of how splendid her fur coat is. Beside them, a couple of chameleons are interested to see the woman Leonhart chose since he rejected their marriage proposals as the mares joined, condescendingly insulting of how Leonhart would never take a bride from their kingdom, much to the chameleons' ire.

Anime and Manga Differences[]
- In the manga, Anubis's ear twitched upon hearing Sariphi refer to Leonhart by the name she gave him. In the anime, it shows Anubis narrowing his eyes instead.
- In the manga, Clops & Cy are seen with Anubis and the guards bidding Leonhart goodnight as he walks to his bed chambers. In the anime, they were not shown.
- The three scenes were added to the anime in order to match the runtime:
- Sariphi leaves her position to encourage everyone at the banquet to enjoy themselves, offering food to the guests, because she wanted to help.
- Sariphi offering to carry something for one of the workers.
- A portion of a scene from chapter 38, but changed to have Sariphi assist them with the banquet.
